Meet the talent leading the Chorale

Artistic Director

Mr. Ross Boerner has been the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Norristown Chorale since June of 2012. Mr. Boerner holds a B.A in Music from Eastern University and has studied choral conducting with Dr. James Jordan at Westminster Choir College along with Dr. Giselle Wyers of the University of Washington and the three-time Grammy Award winner, Dr. Vance George; Chorus Director Emeritus of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Further musical trainings have included work under several nationally known choral artists including; David Fanshaw, Alice Parker, Donald Neuen, Moses Hogan, and Dr. Eph Ely of the University of Missouri.   

Ross has performed by selection in three concerts in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, including the premiere of David Fanshaw’s African Sanctus. In Europe, he has performed in Westminster Abbey, Arundel Cathedral, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Locally, he has been a guest choral and orchestral conductor at several churches in the Philadelphia area for Christmas concerts and other special programs.  

Since 2014, Ross has been the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in King of Prussia. Mr. Boerner also runs his own piano lessons studio and instructs greater than a dozen students



Accompanists

Laurie Mueller
Laurie Mueller joined the Norristown Chorale as Accompanist in June 2012. Laurie has a bachelor's degree in music from Lebanon Valley College, where she studied organ with the late Pierce Getz. She undertook further study at Westminster Choir College in organ, choral, and handbell areas. She has served as the Director of Music for churches on Long Island and here in Pennsylvania and currently serves as the Director for Music at Augustus Lutheran Church.

Pearl Flamberg 
Pearl has been an alto in the Chorale since spring 2014, and has furnished hands three and four in four-hand accompaniments in several Chorale performances. From the age of twelve, Pearl accompanied her church and school choirs in her hometown of New Orleans, and since 2018 has served as Music Director at the First Presbyterian Church at Norristown. Having retired after three decades as a laboratory scientist with degrees in chemistry, she now takes lots of photos and spends far too much time on Facebook. Pearl and her husband Alan are proud parents of a grown daughter and son who love to sing.
