Mr. Ross Boerner became the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Norristown Chorale in June of 2012 after having spent several years in the chorus and as a member of the Board of Directors.
Along with a degree in Secondary Education, Mr. Boerner’s extensive musical studies have included work under nationally known choral artists who include Dr. Eph Ely of the University of Missouri, Dr. James Jordan, David Fanshaw, Alice Parker, and Moses Hogan. He has also taken coursework in choral directing at Westminster Choir College.
Mr. Boerner has had years of training and experience on the pipe organ, piano, and the trombone. Primarily a vocalist, his credits include being ranked nationally twice and has sung solos in England’s Arundel Cathedral and Westminster Abby as well as the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. He has performed by selection in three concerts in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, including the premiere of David Fanshaw’s African Sanctus.
Locally, Mr. Boerner has sung with the Boyertown Area Choral Association and The Montgomery County Choral Society. Currently he teaches piano lessons to over a dozen students throughout the week and is the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in King of Prussia having held the same position for 14 years at the First Baptist Church of Norristown.
Laurie Mueller has been the Accompanist for the Norristown Chorale since June 2012.
Laurie has a bachelor's degree in music from Lebanon Valley College, where she studied organ with the late Pierce Getz. She undertook further study at Westminster Choir College in organ, choral, and handbell areas. She has served as the Director of Music for churches on Long Island and here in Pennsylvania. Laurie has been the Dirctor of Music at historic Augustus Lutheran Church since October 2012.
